“365 Boxes:” Day 22

by | Jan 22, 2023 | "365 Boxes" | 1 comment

There’s no coherent theme to this box, but it does come with a bit of foreshadowing: It includes a pair of three-ring binders. Many more three-ring binders are lurking in the garage. The box also contains notes for a newspaper special section I worked on back in Missoula — which would be more than 20 years ago. I wonder how that section turned out.

Box 22: Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023

CONTENTS: This box contains the first of many three-ring binders that remain in the garage, many of them refugees from the days when I would compile monthly newspaper reports into separate binders, carefully label them with my Brother brand label maker (which I dearly love) and never look at them again. In this case, though, one of the binders contains notes from my church’s 2021 stewardship campaign (which went pretty well, if I recall, no real thanks to me); the other binder is empty and much worse for wear. Also, there’s a VCR tape with episodes of a show that I can’t identify.

DISPOSITION: I’ll hang onto the church binder for the time being until I can consolidate it into my stewardship files (I know this seems like a cop-out, but it’s the best I’ve got right now.) Everything else will be recycled or tossed. Normally, I would donate the other three-ring binder (places like the OSU Folk Club accept donations of office supplies), but it’s in sad shape. The box itself is not in great shape, either, so it also is headed for the recycling bin.

  1. Looks like the task is getting a little easier, at least from here..
