“365 Boxes:” Day 18

by | Jan 18, 2023 | "365 Boxes" | 2 comments

I took my life in my hands today to climb up on a ladder and peer into the interior of the garage — the place where wild boxes still roam free. It was a discouraging view:

So I thought it might be a good day for an easier box. The fates provided.

Box 18: Wednesday, Jan. 18

CONTENTS: The words “Extension Cords” are scrawled on top of the box, so imagine my surprise to learn that the box actually contains a pair of extension cords, along with some voltage adapters for European travel — you just never know when those might come in handy — and, mysteriously, an instruction manual for a screw gun I’m pretty sure we never owned.

DISPOSITION: The box of extension cords — supplemented by a pair of other cords — will find a more convenient location in the hall closet. I’ll keep the adapters there as well, because who knows when Europe will beckon. The manual is headed to the recycling bin. It’s a small victory, but I’ll take it.

If you’re coming late to the whole “365 Boxes” project, here’s the blog post that got it all rolling.

  1. I find it telling that your daily 365 boxes blog is more interesting and morally gratifying than the GT that I cancelled more than a year ago but is still showing up in my driveway. Just sayin’

  2. When I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new feedback are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the same comment. Is there any approach you can remove me from that service? Thanks!
