“365 Boxes:” Day 27

by | Jan 28, 2023 | "365 Boxes" | 1 comment

My spouse, who has (thankfully) become quite an active partner in the “365 Days” project, sensed that I could use an easy day and so emerged from the garage with today’s box.

Box 27: Friday, Jan. 27, 2023

CONTENTS: Now, there could be an ulterior motive in play — I suspect my spouse may want to use this bin for other files. But who am I to question motives? This box contains all of the younger daughter’s notes from the 2005 YMCA Babysitting Camp. Those of you who know the younger daughter will not be surprised to learn that she was an excellent and conscientious babysitter. The rest of the material in the box appears to be paraphernalia we used for a birthday party; the younger daughter, for some reason, wanted a casino-themed birthday party and I thought, sure, what could be the downside of teaching blackjack to a bunch of middle schoolers? I do seem to recall that this party was successful. The box also contains a bottle of bubble solution; if you’re scoring “365 Boxes” at home, you’ll know this is the second bottle of bubble solution that’s turned up this month.

DISPOSITION: A box of 10 dice and a couple of boxes of poker chips will be donated. The paper from the babysitting camp will be recycled. My suspicion is that the next time I see the bin, it will contain various accounting files. I threw away the earlier bottle of bubble solution; I might slip this one under the sink because one never knows when one might need to blow some bubbles.
