“365 Boxes:” Day 28

by | Jan 29, 2023 | "365 Boxes"

Another relatively easy box, but one that left me a little sad.

Box 28: Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023

CONTENTS: These are among the last possessions belonging to my mother, who died in 2021. During her last few months, she lived in an assisted-living facility in Missoula. During the COVID pandemic, visits to the facility were not allowed, so we would occasionally send her new mail-order clothes from a catalog that we still receive and likely will continue to receive until the universe drifts apart, all remaining matter is consumed by black holes and the cosmos succumbs to “heat death” — and even after that, a couple of Blair catalogs will probably land in our mailbox. The box contains a pair of pants, a nice blouse and a cozy-looking comforter.

DISPOSITION: Any number of locations in Corvallis will be happy to receive these items, and I’m confident they will find new owners. We’ll recycle the box into the nearest black hole.
