“365 Boxes:” Day 15

by | Jan 15, 2023 | "365 Boxes" | 2 comments

Not every box in the garage is filled with miscellaneous stuff: Some are empty, like today’s box — but this ends up raising a bunch of questions that I hadn’t previously considered.

Box 15: Sunday, Jan. 15

CONTENTS: The box isn’t completely empty — it has some newsprint stashed inside. But immediately after I bring the box into the house, I am told that we know the location of the fan that this box once held. But does that mean that we can’t toss the box? What are the chances that we’ll pack the fan in this box when we move? A small argument ensues. Relax; the marriage will survive this.

DISPOSITION: Unsettled. If we decide that we want to hang onto most of the boxes that once contained objects like the fan or the printers or the laptops (to list just three examples), I’ll have to find a place to store them. Have I mentioned that there’s an attic over the garage? I think the attic is only half full.

I do recycle the newsprint. It’s a small victory.

If you’re coming late to the whole “365 Boxes” project, here’s the blog post that got it all rolling.

  1. recycle it. knowing the poor quality of most inexpensive products, (expensive ones too for that matter) the fan will break long before you move!

  2. What are the chances the fan will still work by the time you decide to move? I say toss the box.
