“365 Boxes:” Day 21

by | Jan 21, 2023 | "365 Boxes"

Today’s box offers what you might call a clean sweep. (I should be sorry about writing that, but I’m not.)

Box 21: Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023

CONTENTS: This box contains what appears to be all of the bathroom-cleaning supplies from all three of the bathrooms in the previous house. Of course, instead of just moving these cleaning products into their new positions under the sinks of our new house, we lost these in the garage and had to buy new products. It’s the American way! This box also tells a little bit of a story — over the years, we’ve tended to move toward products that use more natural ingredients; the current bathroom cleaner, for example, relies heavily on vinegar. I’m not sure how well it actually cleans, but the smell is nice.

DISPOSITION: Most of these products will be disposed of properly, but I’m hanging onto some of them. Because we have the two cats and my dad’s dog, you never can have enough Nature’s Miracle on hand. A couple of months ago, I found myself wishing that I knew where the Liquid-Plumr was — I especially needed the snake that came with it. I’ll combine the various bottles of Scrubbing Bubbles into one, because it could be fun to see what happens. (I might need to expand my definition of “fun.”) The box itself will be broken down and recycled. The plastic bottles generally are recyclable, but they need to be empty, clean and dry.
